HCL Connections Ideas Portal

Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Adjust screen to fit for lower resolutions

Current behaviour:

When screen resolution is set to low screen resolution (e.g 1366 * 766) side scroll bars are activated to facilitate the user accessing all areas of the UI.
This seems only to happen for the "3 columns with top menu and banner" layout for communities.

Requested Behaviour.
The customer requests that when such a low screen resolution is set, that the communities layout is fit to screen, without the need of side scroll bars.

To my opinion this is a defect and not an enhancement. The behavior is confusing and users who are not familiar with the problem can think about a data loss.

The problem is still visible in IC 7.0

I have no idea, why this bug is not fixed. As more and more end users are getting screens with higher resolutions I get more and more reports of this issue.

The acceptance by end users is not high and if I explain the background they are just laughing. :-(

I would agree with others here - this layout issue needs to be addressed as a defect. The marketing materials for 6.0 highlight the new community layouts as a key feature/enhancement, and yet the scroll bar issue basically renders this layout option as unusable.

These problematic resolutions are especially challenging for the many employees who use laptops, as the higher resolutions aren't even viable options. This is a key, core, critical user interface issue - so much so that it is surprising to see this being treated as an "enhancement" rather than a defect.

We are experiencing the same issue and would like to know if this has been addressed in any of the CR's after IC6 CR2.  Thanks
