HCL Connections Ideas Portal

Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Create the option for apps to only be addable to a community by Connections admins.

Currently you can set up Connections so that communities can only be created by admins. It would be extremely useful if Libraries could only be added to a community by admins. The integration of CCM is cumbersome and until CCM can be replaced by a better functioning files application, having the ability to limit the number of libraries being used to those who actually need the capabilities that a Library has which files do not would be very helpful.

This is a good idea when taking it into broader context away from CCM. Meaning that in general an Admin should be able to limit what apps can be added and which can not. In terms of priority this will likley take a while but in the meantime using the Connections Customizer you could tweak Connections to where a user would only see the option to add the CCM app if they are on a white list. Another customer has done a similar customization to limit who can create external communities (for cloud).
