Error message shown every few minutes in IBM Connections-Desktop-Plug-ins for Windows

In remote sites (e.g. VPN) we have this issue: We were able to configure the plug-in and it works fine, but every few minutes a popup is shown with the error "IBM Connections Server for lappnet sync is currently unavailable".

- The notification appears every 2-5 min

- "View sync issues" says "server could not be reached in this situation.

- After a few seconds the message disappears.

- Working with files is possible, but the message pops up every now and then.


This is known limitation. See case CS0041149.

This is the message I got from HCL:

The dev response about the issue is a known limitation in connectivity-challenged networks. The error is being reported when the sync socket is re-established, which happens every 90 secs or so as part of the Bayeux event protocol. This needs to be considered as an enhancement request. So we request you to raise a request for product enhancement.
