Apache Server as the Web Server

Customer would like Apache server to be be supported with HCL Connections.

Currently only IBM IHS is officially supported.

That's interesting, since IHS is a fork of Apache. Is there any overview what IBM has added to IHS, what Apache2 doesn't already support? The only thing I noticed so far is the WebSphere plugin.

Since HLC want's to get rid of the old WAS stack, it seems a good idea to get started with the IHS. Apache is a solid open source Webserver widely used for decades. It also has official docker images and could be a suiteable platform for the new CNX.

This might not be a request for HCL, but IBM. Anyway, IBM IHS is built on Apache webserver. The WebSphere Plug-in is only tested / verified with IBM IHS, and this is required in a WebSphere ND installation. Therefore, I would not expect support for Apache webserver as long as core components of HCL Connections are built on WebSphere stack.
