need an ability to share files and folders to external parties (NOT guests!) as we do via GDrive or OneDrive or Box
The possibilities of easily sharing files externally was the driver behind the wildfire adoption of BOX inside IBM. This is the single most important need to improve and make easy to boost the attractiveness of Connections.
Waiting for updates of v6.5, or later, tobe able to share files with external contacts, without having to be a 'member'. Similar to BOX.COM.
This is one of the most-wanted feature of our customers. What additional information is needed? (with reference to the current idea status)
In connections Cloud. I understand that when sharing a file the external recipient gets 2 emails . the first allows a one time download without any registration and the other asks them to register ? It would be good to have 1 email with 2 links though.
BOX sharing files with external guests is superb. Why do we as customers have more suppliers and applications when IBM, with developing its applications and integrations, can offer similar solutions?
You're right .. but without box?
FYI - "one time instant sharing of files with external partners without registration as guests" is available today in Box, which can also integrated in the Connections web ui.

Yes, the idea is to have an option for a one time instant sharing of files with external partners without registration as guests. With a one-time link which is restricted by time.
A question on the use case: Today, a file can be marked for external sharing when uploaded, and when you share it with an external user, they will be invited to sign up and register for Connections Cloud, after which they can see the file.
Is the request for the ability to share a file without requiring that the recipient first register an ID to sign into Connections?
Would be great for OnPrem too.
