Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.
For more information and upcoming events, please visit our HCL Connections page.
Come this Feature with Connections 6.5 CR2? I saw Docs get an Update (CR4 Docs).
For community collaboration, the smart way to work is to share received mails too. Mail files are sometimes received as an EML file. EML file cannot be previewed in DOCS. EML file must be downloaded and cannot be previewed in Notes, but only in Outlook. If you do not have Outlook installed, the mail cannot be previewed. Preview for EML-files should be a standard.
Preview of simple HTML files would be useful as well.
Please also add Visio Files, vsd and vsdx for preview and thumbnails.
support WPS, such as WPS, Chinese People ofen use WPS as their office tools.
How about Pages / Keynote / Number files since more and more IBMers use OSX ?
More types supported to preview. It is much valuable for LOB.
We do support rtf and txt today. We hear the feedback about expanding the file types and will take that under consideration. Thank you for your votes.
In our case, preview a csv file is an important demand
Inn our case i will be very usefull to have an option to view *.msg and *.eml files. Which are in most communities important source documents
A viewer/conversion registry would be a good idea, just like Alfresco did for example. But to have an integration of a 300 file format viewer as a service like snowbound would also be great, at least for non confidential content. So content classification would be a good step forward for allowing external viewing capabilities. Maybe classify whole communities as confidential then no external tools are available. For all others, users could enjoy the preview of nearly everything. But remember: there will be a file format out there that even that all-in viewer does not provide. For these, the initial idea of a previewer or conversion tool registry stays interesting. Autodesk viewers would be a good example of that. Rvt Files can not be viewed with snowbound, right?
or have the ability to register more files types with a command / script
having the ability to switch more types on and off would be great
