Desktop Plugin for Linux

As a Linux user, I would love to see the desktop plugin made available for Linux systems as well. So that you can easily access your files without having to launch the browser. This should be possible in a similar way as under macOS?

In recent times, there are also simple ways to make it available, e.g. as a Flatpak or via the Snap Store.
