Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.
For more information and upcoming events, please visit our HCL Connections page.
Move Blogs configuration properties to config file or gatekeeper
Currently, many of the settings for blogs are in a settings file in the ear file. On every Cfix and or upgrade, this get's overwritten. Please move them to gatekeeper or LC_Config folder. Connections is hard enough to maintain as it is, having to replace config files after every fix pack and upgrade, checking the old and new file for differences, etc is time consuming, error prone, leads to inconsistencies and in general should not be part of any modern piece of software. Example: showing the blog commenter's IP, in many organisations, it will show the loadbalancer or HTTP server IP anyways so you want to turn that off permanently, you also do not want the hostname or ip of intermediate servers exposed. There are many other config parameters in that file that need to be moved elsewhere
