Community: Option to notify all community members

When using "Notify other people" in a community blog there is no option to select all community members. Instead you would have to tick evey single member. That is very cumbersome.

    Good idea. And very useful.

For me, it would be a good idea to have a button to select all members of a community to be notified of an interesting blog entry.

Another idea is to have the possibility to tag all community members when the blog entry is created. For example: @Community_name will tag all the members of the community and everyone will be notified.

    BENEFITS OF THE IDEA

    1. Time saving when you need to notify dozens of members about a post

    2. All community members are informed. It depends on everyone's individual settings which notification receive from ConNext posts, but when someone is tagged, a mail is automatically sent. I observed the following: in a community of almost 300 members, a blog entry with a notification sent to all was viewed by 100 members while similar blog topics without notification were viewed by only 10-20 members.

After discussing the topic internally we come to the conclusion that we do not want to support this idea any longer: notifications are often seen as SPAM, a lot of users (especially power users) are unhappy with the heavy use of notification. In case of making notifying peple even easier, the mail flood will increase for sure! So please consider "Social behavior" and the intension of a social collaboration platform: pull vs. push, learning that people follow content and people of interest, ...
It's a cultural change and a change of behaviour!

Please be careful when implementing anything "Notify all". If we do so in an uncontrolled way, there will be a great risk of Connections becoming yet another SPAM-distribution center. Don't implement without checks and balances, please!

Should be default for all apps like the possibility for @community in all areas in a community.

Agreed, this should not be implemented just for Blogs, but for all apps.  It would be particularly useful in Community linked Activities, for example, where actions (to-do's) and other updates frequently need to be communicated to all members.

"Notify all members" should be implemented consistently in all applications of IBM Connections (Activities, Blogs, Forums, Wikis, Events, Files). See also https://connections.ideas.aha.io/ideas/IDEACNCTNS-I-288

Notifying All Community Members about content

It is not possible to quickly select "All members" of the community on the "Notify Community Members" panel, e.g. in a Community event or Blog post. Selecting members one by one is not practical in larger communities.
