Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Allow admins to choose which user gets associated with a community in search results

The person who creates a community will permanently be associated with the community as the original community creator.

Search results that display communities display the community creator without any additional context.

If the community creator is inactivated, the community search result will display the community creator as inactive.

If the community creator is removed from the community, the creator will still be displayed as associated with the community without any way to adjust.

It would be better to do at least one of the following options:

  • Indicate in the community search result that the user displayed is the original creator of the community

  • Allow the admin to hide the community creator from search results associated with the community

  • Allow the admin to configure another user in place of the community creator to display in search results

  • Completely hide users associated with the community.
