Modernizing the Calendar (Event) Widget

User Interface (UI) Design:

Consider a clean, intuitive, and responsive design. Bootstrap, Material Design, or other modern UI frameworks can be helpful.


Event Display:

Use a modern card-based layout or a timeline view for events to enhance user experience.


Filtering and Search:

Implement advanced filtering options and search functionalities for users to easily find events.



And please, a standardized API for Calendar Import.


iCalendar (ICS) Format:

Consider using the standard iCalendar format for importing and exporting calendar data.


RESTful API:

Implement a RESTful API for calendar operations.

This could include endpoints for creating, updating, and deleting events, as well as retrieving event data.


Webhooks:

Include webhook support to enable real-time updates and notifications for changes in the calendar.

    To get really some benefit of this idea, implement https://connections-ideas.hcltechsw.com/ideas/IDEACNCTNS-I-254 Without saving a timezone with the event, any API or ICS / calendar integration is useless.
