Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.
For more information and upcoming events, please visit our HCL Connections page.
External users should be able to receive notifications from Communities that they have joined. I would like to see this feature\enhancement added to Communities. Thank you.
It is very important that external Users also get notifications. Without this function it takes a lot of time to react in Connections and at the end to work together just in time.
This feature is really essential in order to properly inform external users about updates and should actually be considered as a bug rather than an enhancement request.
This feature is must have or the whole purpose is lost and notifications need to be sent manual in old style email
awaiting for the feature.
In interactions, it is necessary to comment and send a direct message to a participant, internally or externally, with a comment on a file, such as in Box (@mentions), not just as a comment in the sidebar. Direct communication in files can be performed in Box (if one has license) Watson or in Slack. But it should be unnecessary in an application that can be used as IBM markets Connections.
@mentions shuld be back..
External guests in common have some limited communication opportunities, but there are limitations that make it impossible to interact effectively, as it is possible in on-prem installation.
External guest services must be: Read content they are given access to, automatically receive update with links to the information they have access to in community to which they are members and relevant to those, all members should be able to view personal information such as name, phone number, email address and other information the person has registered voluntarily.
In addition, it would be an advantage to be able to notify a member directly by email, related to file or other useful information, as in Box.
That this doesn't happen is at the level of a product defect. This is not available for Guest User, and not available for external paid subscribers, too. It makes no sense to suppress notifications to external collaborators.
