Connections Desktop Plug-in: Prompt for lock before editing a file

IBM Connections Desktop Plug-in provides the option to lock a file. However, users have to lock a file manually before editing, and forget it most likely. A first improvement would be to prompt for lock before editing a file. Confirming this prompt would ensure that a file gets locked and cannot be edited by another person in parallel.

Idea #I-48 (https://connections.ideas.aha.io/ideas/IDEACNCTNS-I-48) describes a more broader approach including a check if a file is currently being edited by another person in IBM Docs.

    Any progress or information on this feature request?

    2 years already since this feature has been requested and the feature is still on "Medium term focus".

    Such a prompt would be really important and would lead to less version conflicts.

    This feature was announced by IBM two years ago. I would like to see some progress in IBM's development activities.
