IBM Dev provided the following answer sometime later:

"No plans yet to support customers to use 3rd party tool to do analysis of Metrics data in ES so far.

The object ID is stored along with the Metrics event data in ES index. In Metrics UI application, we convert the ID into the name via Search API and show it in Metrics pages. So to use Kabana to access/analyze the data in ES, customers need to 1) understand the structure of Metrics index and the definition clearly  2) find a way to show the content/name of those ID.

For 1), we can plan some time to provide a documentation to explain Metrics index in ES."
