Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

    Show file is locked icon when in "Show All" inside Community

    In the Overview page in your Community, you can see behind the file a locked-icon. This icon dissapears when you press show all. In the All Files overview, you cannot see if the file is locked or not, you have to open it first.

    When looking at Files, several file formats are supported, like .gif, .pptx, .docx, .pdf etc - but there is no support for displaying mind maps from e.g. XMind. Please include a preview function for .xmind files as well. We often use Xmind mindmap...

    Ability to set access level to delete files and folders.

    The shared files and folders can be deleted by every user who were shared them even the access level is "Reader" and "Editor". Only "Owner" should be able to delete the files and folders.

    Transfer files from a user prior to delete the account

    As a Customer Admin , I want to transfer all files (Only Files) prior to delete an account, so that we can quickly transfer the files to a new Owner

    Allow community owners to decide how they want the files in their community sorted

    Currently files in community files/folders are sorted by last edit date. Sometimes owners want it to be sorted alphabetically. Please allow community owners a setting to do this. As an example, in CCM libraries this is also possible .

    Video Playback on Apple Devices

    The integrated video player, which is used to preview videos uploaded to Files, does not work in Safari on macOS nor in Mobile Safari on iOS or iPadOS. Please upgrade the player to support those devices.

    Share by link also for anonymous users

    A new feature share-by-link introduced in 6.0 CR4 still requires users (who receive the link) to log in in Connections to be able to access the shared file. However, users expect that the links should work for everybody, i.e. for all anonymous use...
