Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Windows Explorer Desktop PlugIn functions (not sync) for Mac

For Windows the Explorer PlugIn is available. It allows to view the contents of the file repository and to download and upload files. An upload creates a new version and asks for a description of the changes . In Windows as well the synchronization is available like for Mac. Unfortunately sync rarely (only if multiple authors work on a file) creates new versions and does not allow to indicate the changes. Please add the capabilities to create new versions and to access files without the need to synchronize these to a Mac.

IBM Notes already has this kind of plugin available based on Eclipse. But not all Connections users run Notes and the Notes PlugIn does not run as good as the current Windows PlugIns.

Very very necesary, as without it I don't see how collaborating with my colleagues on files on ConnectPeople would be possible/feasable on Mac

Same capabilities in Finder as in Windows Explorer is a must have. Do to technical restriction it seems it was not able with High Sierra and previous MacOS but since Mojave it should be possible. Microsoft is just previewing this capability with Files On Demand using OneDrive https://youtu.be/F9bD9O8I3P0?t=1057
