Make Connections look like this ideation blog looks

Connections looks old, tired, and ugly. We have tried to address it somewhat with the recent Visual Updates but those have several issues: 1) they do not go far enough; 2) they depend on Customizer, which does not run for Guest users; and 3) the actual implementation is little more than apply Band-Aids on top of the existing layers of Band-Aids.

If Connections looked (and worked) like this ideation blog, the one we're using right now, it would be SO MUCH EASIER TO SELL to people who have eyes.
